Pilansberg National Park Elephant Safaris
Slowly ambling alongside herds of wildlife, while perched on top of a gentle giant, is a unique and interesting way to view game. The elephant's scent masks that of humans, making it easier to get closer to wild animals in their natural environment. Spending time with these wonderful mammals is an awe-inspiring experience that leaves you with a sense of peace and well-being.
Pilansberg National Park Elephant back safaris in the malaria-free Pilansberg Game Reserve (right next to Sun City Resort Complex), are offered as morning, mid-morning, and lunch-time events. Pilansberg National Park elephant back safaris can be done in a day, but if you have some time, why not stay in the area at Sun City, where the choices for food, entertainment, and even accommodation are wide spread.
Elephant back safaris are also offered at the Kruger National Park, also with an option to stay inside or out of the park, with a wide variety of accommodation to choose from. A luxurious private game reserve situated inside the Kruger National Park, offers elephant back safaris every day for the duration of your stay.
The Elephant Sanctuary, (malaria-free), nestling under the impressive Magaliesberg Mountains, also offer elephant back safaris. They have six African elephants, all rescued and rehabilitated at the Sanctuary, and they offer morning(1 ½ hrs), mid-morning, lunch(2 1/2hrs), or dinner safaris(7hrs), with a chance to really get to know the elephants and their keepers. Smaller mammals including leopard, caracal, as well as porcupines, and up to 120 bird species populate this area.
All the elephant back safaris on offer, have their own elephant keeper, who will be with you at all times, during the safari.
